Then buy your Hatchet at the store. 

Level 1 - 30 cut Regular tree
- Xp 1 log = 4000 Xp
Level 30 - 60 cut Willow tree
- Xp 1 log = 10880 Xp
Level 60 - 75 cut Yew tree
- Xp 1 log = 28000 Xp
Level 75 - 99/200M XP cut Magic tree
- Xp 1 log = 40000
